PS Plus VS Xbox Live Gold, or when you have a choice, but not you..
I’ll say right away that I was prompted to create this blog by one of my good friends, who released a video on YouTube with a review of the giveaways of the two above-mentioned subscriptions for March of this year. I have already asked him to do a full analysis of all the hands during the existence of both platforms, so if you are also interested, write, and then we will look together.
I don’t see the point in retelling his opinion – those who are interested will take a look, but I would like to see what the companies for which customers voted with rubles/dollars/euro really give to their users – underline what needs to be emphasized. The main thing is to understand that subscription is now voluntary-compulsory, and I think that an extremely small number of people will want to sit on these platforms without online access, with limited functionality.
There must be a joke about "circumcised".
Turkey again.
I don’t want to start a fight on the topic: “PS vs Xbox,” but the company from the rising country has big problems with subscriptions, and users usually write in the comments about the next PS plus giveaway: “Again / another turkey on PS4. "etc.d. Although many still hope (me too) that the Japanese are about to become generous, and we will be waiting for a flurry of blockbusters, albeit a year or two ago.
Of course, the presence of undisputed hits in the Xbox collections is due to the presence of backward compatibility, but Sony made it clear that this is something we can’t even dream of on PS4, and while we still get worn-out games from PS2 for 1 kiloruble/piece – the recent bully and manhunt are a prime example of this.
WHO NEEDS THEM ON PS4?!
Free games in 2016 on PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold.
Finally, let’s get down to what, in fact, I wanted to discuss with you, SG users.
December 31 has died down, the January holidays have arrived. I myself rubbed my hands greedily, expecting freebies from our eastern friends. What is the result?
January 2016
Xbox one owners were pleased with a pretty decent selection of games:
Killer Instinct Season 1 Ultra Edition;
Zheros;
DiRT Showdown;
Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
It is important to note that thanks to backward compatibility, Xbox one owners received as many as 3 (three) games (Zheros is trash), and one was a hit straight from the last generation. Of the “exclusive” (also brought to PC) fighting games on PS4, there is only the new Street Fighter so far, so Killer instinct (73 rating of the first season on metacritic), as they say, will handle beer. Everyone already knows about Deus Ex and Dirt Showdown – these are great games from the previous generation of consoles.
What made the owners of https://nummuscasino.co.uk/ another platform happy??
Hardware: Rivals and Grim Fandango Remastered… I don’t argue that classic quests are cool, and online rides are fun, but it’s not what you expect, especially looking at the impressive list from a direct competitor.
My opinion: In Hardware: Rivals, the beta was enough for me, but, alas, I missed Grim Fandango, since my English level is now below par. Although 13 years ago I understood all the intricacies of the plot of Sons of Liberty, but these are my problems, yes. In general, I was left without Igor 🙁
February 2016
February was a little sadder on both fronts, but both companies rolled out their offerings to the players.
Xbox one owners were pleased with:
Hand of Fate;
Styx: Master of Shadows;
Sacred Citadel;
Gears of War 2.
Again backwards compatibility, and again the game Gears of War 2, suitable for replaying (or to refresh your memory), and for some Xbox 360 owners even the best of the entire last generation of consoles. I’ll just note that Styx: Master of Shadows was in the PS plus distribution in 2015, to be objective.
PS4 “holders” received:
Helldivers (PS4/PS3/PS Vita)
Nom Nom Galaxy (PS4)
Nova 111 (PS4/PS3/PS Vita)
Of the “Turkey Meat” presented in the February selection, only Helldivers stands out as a bright light – a truly high-quality product from the creators of Magicka, but it’s the only one.
Nom Nom Galaxy and Nova 111 — are you sad?
Soon we will enjoy the next selection of games, but for now we have the following:
Live Gold subscribers:
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishment;
Lords of the Fallen;
Supreme Commander 2;
Borderlands 2.
Is it worth mentioning backwards compatibility again?? And while PS4 owners are asked to buy the Handsome collection (Borderlands 2 is the only reason for this), it is quietly distributed to Xbox One owners, albeit the X360 version. In general, we are happy for Xbox One fans, as they have a lot of freebies this month 4 good games.
PS plus subscribers received:
Broforce;
Flame Over;
Galak-Z;
WTF? Perhaps no comments. That is, yes, no comments at all. Or do you, dear SG users, think differently??
I think it makes no sense to go into the numbers/quantity and quality of distributions – here for the owners of the Japanese console there will be a disappointing conclusion, sadness, sadness and tears in the eyes, and if you remember that the subscription for Live Gold is cheaper..
Oh yes, now there is a discount on ps plus until March 31st – a good step, sony, but what will we get with a subscription this year?
Someone will shout that this is all because of backward compatibility, games for a subscription for the poor, and in general the box “sucks”, but the fact remains that the owners of the Japanese console naturally have, by giving real money for it, quite real slag, which everyone simply adds to the library and forgets about the existence of a subscription until the next month, or when they have to pay for it again.
Supporters of both consoles, I think, are looking forward to the companies announcing new distributions – fortunately, the wait won’t be long, but I’ll probably call it a day.
My opinion is quite simple to formulate:
1) It seems to me that Sony should reconsider its attitude towards subscriptions, since even the fact that the gap from the competitor is already too great does not give the right to spit on gamers.
2) This whole situation is starting to resemble a “circus” with DLC and other extras, when they start selling a season pass to people before the game’s release. No matter how soon the time has come when a subscription will simply give you access to the Internet and minor “goodies”, because with DLC this is how it all began, if anyone remembers.
This is my opinion. What about yours?
PS: I’m sincerely happy for the owners of the box, but I’m not ready to be content with their exclusives and games in 900p-720p for this.
PS: The blog was previously posted on another site, but this is an expanded version, and I’m interested in reading the opinions of SG users.
ZYYY
It seems that one game is already known in the new selection for ps plus subscribers, and it will be
