Project: Snowblind: Review
Science fiction has always been a popular genre for shooters. They mixed a banal plot, like: “The future of humanity is in danger”, added excellent execution to the plot and – voila, welcome to the best shooter of the month. There is a city consisting of mega-corporations and high technologies, inhabited by greedy people. All this goodness is slowly but surely sliding into the abyss and should soon sink into oblivion. And then he appears, a superhero capable of saving all humanity from this disaster. The plot, as you can see, is simple, but that’s not what captivates us in the game. All the best aspects, borrowed from similar projects, together make a wonderful game – Project Snowblind, which can keep you busy for 8 – 10 hours in single player mode, that’s for sure.
All fans Deus Ex will perceive Snowblind like something of our own, dear. Judge for yourself: the gloomy and dark future of humanity, futuristic weapons and high-tech devices, a cyber-equipped hero, a maniacal villain who is trying to plunge the city into darkness all this time. Isn’t this all reminding us of those glorious days of Deus??
And this is where the story https://xbetcasino.co.uk/ begins. A crazy retired general starts a war in Hong Kong and threatens the world with the launch of electromagnetic weapons that would defeat all technology and throw humanity back to the Stone Age. Naturally, the free nations of this world cannot allow such impudence and are equipping a detachment capable of preventing a catastrophe. You are playing for someone Nathan Frost, a soldier who began military operations from the first minutes in Hong Kong and died in an unfair battle. But we should not forget that at that time medicine was omnipotent, and we are being resurrected, and not just like that, but by introducing special technologies!
The whole game is one big thing Deus Ex. They even say that the game was originally called Deus Ex: Clan Wars, But Eidos I decided to come up with my own name and renamed the game "Project Snowblind". Was she afraid that this project too would suffer the fate of a failure? Deus Ex: Invisible War, or what else is now unknown, but the fact remains a fact.
There is only one big difference – the genre. Our ward is a shooter, and with a capital “S”. Constant fighting and tension, tension and fighting. All levels are linear and accompanied by many scripts, but the developers were able to glue everything together into one whole so that we will rarely remember such moments. What more can be said? Well done Crystal Dynamics, Bravo!
Although the texture resolution is quite low (the reason that the game is also a console project), Snowblind can still impress. The designers were able to build such a beautiful city, in an architectural sense, that you are amazed. The surrounding objects are wonderful and interesting. For example, the former opera house is now a prison. Brrr! And now let’s add excellent rain to all this, and… again we imagine Deus Ex! The voices are chosen normally, the musical accompaniment plays in the tone of what is happening, and not just anyhow. Sound effects correspond to real ones. In general, there are few complaints in this part.
As already mentioned, you will have to run not only alone, but also with a whole squad. Of course, you will manage and give instructions. True, this is quite problematic, and martinets sometimes do not behave properly. But it’s still nice to feel that you are not alone against the forces of Evil.
In addition to the extensive arsenal of conventional (sorry, futuristic!) weapons you are endowed with superpowers embedded in your body. The effects are completely different, such as: time dilation (a la Max Payne), creating an impenetrable energy shield or “transparent walls”. The latter will be very useful towards the end of the game, where you will receive a weapon that can shoot through walls.
It’s also worth mentioning that the enemies in the game aren’t that stupid. They are able to dodge your shots, hide when possible, throw grenades at you, retreat if they see reinforcements. Quite a list, isn’t it??
After finishing the single player part you will want more. And rightly so, because Crystal Dynamics didn’t skimp on the multiplayer! Let’s meet, a game on the Internet or over a network, which, by the way, includes as many as eight modes: deathmatch, team deathmatch, hunter, capture the flag, assault and others. And there will be no problems when choosing a character, we are provided with six classes: infantryman, machine gunner, scout, sniper, etc…
Let’s sum it up. Project Snowblind can brighten up your weekend spent playing. At the same time, you will not regret the time spent at all. And if you are also a fan of Deus Ex, then the box with the game should be exactly the same as the series of the same name. The only downside is that Snowblind could have been made more complicated. This is where he gives in Deus Ex.
